Services We Offer
Spay & Neuter
Why Spay & Neuter?
The reasons make sense.
- It saves lives:
By spaying/neutering your pet, you help to reduce the numbers of homeless animals that are euthanized in our local shelters each year. Spaying and neutering your pet is the greatest contribution you can make to the welfare of animals in our community!
- Better health and longer life for pets:
Scientific research shows that companion animals who are spayed/neutered live longer and are less likely to develop cancer and infections. It's actually a myth that allowing a pet to have a litter first is better for the pet.
- Pets have fewer behavioral problems:
Spaying/neutering your pet can reduce many undesirable behaviors such as spraying, roaming, aggression and mounting.
The Madison-Greene Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic is committed to ending companion animal overpopulation by providing low cost, quality spay and neuter services. We also offer low-cost vaccinations only at the time of surgery.
See the Spay & Neuter page for costs and information about our Spay/Neuter Clinic.
Vaccinations
We offer $10 vaccinations for your pet when we spay or neuter them. We regret that we are unable to provide vaccinations other than at that time. We do offer a low cost Rabies Clinic in Stanardsville at least once a year, sometimes twice, Spring and Fall. Stay tuned!
